Finding your best fit
There is no single ski resort that is best for everyone. A resort that works brilliantly for an advanced skier may be a poor choice for a first ski trip, while a family may value completely different things from a group looking for lively après-ski.
Our round-ups focus on a specific need, such as beginners, families, snow reliability, value, advanced skiing or après-ski, rather than ranking every resort by one universal definition of “best”.
Ski-area size matters, but so do snow reliability, lift access, terrain variety, atmosphere, accommodation, resort layout and value. Different round-ups give different factors more weight.
A shortlist is a starting point. Where available, our individual resort reviews and travel guides let you investigate the skiing, strengths, weaknesses and practical details in more depth.

Where a resort has one of our scored reviews, that review provides additional context, but a high overall score does not automatically make a resort the best choice for every type of ski holiday.
