Quick jump

Quick verdict

Inghams is strongest when you want ski-specialist support and the journey packaged with the stay.

Travel, resort transfers and accommodation sit at the centre of the package, with 24/7 support while you are away and a useful mix of flight, rail and self-drive options. The trade-off is a smaller resort programme than the broadest competitors, and ski essentials usually sit outside the core package.

Our verdict

Is Inghams worth it? Yes — especially if specialist support and flexible travel matter to you.

Inghams has a different strength from the biggest volume operators. Its 80-resort programme is smaller, but the company combines a long ski-specialist history with flight, rail and self-drive options, transfers, accommodation and 24/7 support. That makes it particularly convincing for travellers who value help around the journey as well as the hotel. The main limitation is that lift passes, hire and lessons are normally separate third-party ski extras rather than part of the core holiday package.

Trav’s take: Inghams is most convincing when you will use the specialist support and packaged journey. Compare the full cost after ski extras, then check that the exact flight, rail or self-drive option suits you.

Our rating
8.8/10

Excellent overall

Inghams scorecard

Inghams Ski Holidays rating: 8.8/10.

Inghams scores best for trust, travel logistics and support. Its resort range is smaller than the broadest competitors, and we keep value slightly restrained because ski essentials can materially change the complete trip cost.

Value

Total-trip value

8.1/10

Very good rather than consistently cheapest. Travel, transfers and accommodation are packaged together, but lift passes, hire, lessons, baggage and ski carriage can still change the complete holiday cost.

Very good
Trust

Trust & booking confidence

9.5/10

Exceptional trust profile. A ski history dating to 1934, Hotelplan Limited backing, DERTOUR group ownership and clearly published ATOL and ABTA protection create very strong booking confidence.

Exceptional
Clarity

Booking clarity & transparency

8.7/10

Clear overall, with a few details to verify. Inghams explains package inclusions and identifies ski extras as third-party services, but some travel and supplier information can vary between pages or by booking.

Excellent
Choice

Resort & accommodation choice

8.4/10

Strong but deliberately narrower. Around 80 resorts across eight countries gives good depth, but Inghams does not match the broadest operators for sheer resort and accommodation choice.

Excellent
Travel

Travel logistics

9.3/10

A genuine market-leading strength. Flight, rail and self-drive packages, included resort transfers and a substantial rail programme give Inghams unusually strong travel flexibility.

Market-leading
Ski extras

Ski extras & flexibility

8.8/10

Plenty of useful flexibility. Lift passes, hire and lessons can be pre-booked, with flexible payment and change options available. Supplier terms and charges can still limit how flexible a specific booking is.

Excellent
Support

Support & service

9.3/10

Specialist support is central to the product. 24/7 holiday support, Destination Experts and local assistance make this one of Inghams’ clearest market-leading strengths.

Market-leading
Convenience

Package convenience

9.1/10

Very easy to hand over the core trip. Travel, transfers and accommodation are handled together, but ski extras remain separate services rather than one fully bundled all-inclusive ski product.

Market-leading
How the overall score works: We give more importance to the parts that can have the biggest effect on the holiday. Value carries 20%; trust, booking clarity and choice 15% each; travel, ski extras and support 10% each; convenience 5%. The weighted result is 8.805/10, rounded to 8.8.

Who Inghams suits

Who should book an Inghams ski holiday?

  • You value Destination Experts and 24/7 support while you are away.
  • You like the option of travelling by rail or self-drive as well as flying.

Package contents

What does an Inghams ski holiday include?

Inghams packages travel, resort transfers and accommodation together. The exact journey can be by air, rail or self-drive, while lift passes, equipment and lessons are normally separate ski extras.

✓ IncludedTravel

The travel element is part of the package. Depending on the holiday, that can mean flights, rail travel or a self-drive arrangement.

✓ IncludedResort transfers

Transfers are included where they form part of the package, with the actual coach, minibus, taxi, rail or other arrangement shown for the holiday.

✓ IncludedAccommodation

Your chosen hotel, chalet or apartment and the stated board basis form part of the holiday.

+ OptionalSki essentials

Lift passes, ski or snowboard hire and lessons can be pre-booked where available. Inghams states that these are third-party services and do not form part of the package holiday itself.

SupportHelp while away

Inghams advertises 24/7 support on holiday and Destination Experts who provide local information and assistance.

Value checks

What can change the value of an Inghams ski holiday?

The package is easy to understand, but the complete cost and convenience still depend on the ski extras and the exact travel arrangement you choose.

01

Add the skiing costs

Include any lift pass, equipment, lessons and winter-sports insurance you need before comparing the total with another operator or a DIY trip.

02

Compare the travel option

Flight, rail and self-drive can create very different journeys. Look at departure point, timings, transfer length and what each option includes.

03

Check baggage and ski carriage

Airline baggage varies, and ski carriage should be arranged in advance where needed. Capacity and booking method can differ by flight.

04

Read the booking-specific terms

Check the protection, payment schedule, change conditions, local taxes and any supplier charges that apply to the holiday you are actually considering.

The decision

Choose Inghams when specialist support and flexible packaged travel matter more than maximum resort choice.

Inghams is particularly compelling when its flight, rail or self-drive option fits your trip and you value having Destination Experts and 24/7 support around the holiday. Compare elsewhere if sheer resort breadth, extreme date flexibility or an all-in headline price for ski essentials matters more.

Before booking

Inghams Ski Holidays FAQs.

Package contents, travel protection, ski extras, baggage and the travel options available through Inghams.

What is included in an Inghams ski holiday package?

Inghams currently advertises its ski packages with travel, transfers and accommodation included. The exact travel arrangements, transfer details, accommodation and board basis depend on the holiday you choose.

Are Inghams ski holidays ATOL and ABTA protected?

Inghams states that its air holidays and flights are ATOL protected under ATOL 0025. Its self-drive and rail package holidays are protected under the ABTA scheme, membership number V4871. Check the protection applying to your specific booking and your ATOL Certificate where applicable.

Are lift passes, ski hire and lessons included?

They are not generally part of the standard ski package. Inghams lets customers pre-book lift passes, ski or snowboard hire and lessons, subject to the options available for the resort. Inghams states that these ski extras are supplied by third parties and do not form part of the holiday package.

Can I add ski carriage to an Inghams booking?

Yes, but arrangements depend on the flight. Inghams says ski carriage should be booked in advance and can be limited on some services. For some Jet2 charter flights it is booked directly with Jet2, so check the current cost and method for your departure.

How we review

How we reached our Inghams rating.

We use current Inghams information for the package, travel options, ski extras, support and protection, then apply the same company-rating scale used across our ski-operator reviews.

01 · Current product

What Inghams sells today.

We use the latest published information for package contents, resort choice, travel, ski extras, payment flexibility, support and financial protection.

02 · Whole-trip value

Value beyond the headline price.

Lift passes, hire, lessons, baggage, ski carriage, transfers and support all affect what the holiday costs and how convenient it is in practice.

03 · Same company scale

Compare like with like.

Inghams is scored on the same eight company categories as other ski operators so a strong specialist service is not confused with raw resort count or headline price alone.

How the overall rating is balanced

Value carries the most weight because the complete holiday cost matters most. Trust, booking clarity and choice come next, followed by travel logistics, ski extras, support and convenience. The weighted result is 8.805/10, rounded to 8.8/10.
