Where to ski in Italy: altitude, linked terrain and resort style.

Italy offers high Alpine resorts, cross-border skiing and the Dolomites. Compare what is linked from your base, not just the biggest pass number.

Cervinia and Sestriere sit above 2,000 m; Livigno is at 1,816 m.

🗺️ Linked ski areas

Vialattea offers 400 km, Cervinia–Zermatt 350 km and the Campiglio linked area 156 km.

Selva, Canazei and Corvara sit on the Sellaronda. Cortina is in Dolomiti Superski but not on the circuit.

Courmayeur and Cortina are mountain towns; Corvara is quieter, Sauze livelier and Sestriere purpose-built.

Package inclusions

What can an Italy ski holiday package include?

Packages vary. Some include travel, transfers and accommodation; others are accommodation-only. Compare like for like.

Travel

Flights or rail may be included, or you may arrange travel yourself.

Transfers

Check whether resort transfers are included, optional or separate.

Accommodation

Compare property, room type, board basis, location and number of nights.

Baggage

Check hold baggage and ski-carriage allowances before booking.

Ski extras

Lift passes, hire and lessons are usually extras unless stated otherwise.

Finding cheaper Italy ski holidays

How to find cheaper Italy ski holidays.

Compare the full trip cost, not just the headline price.

  1. 01

    Avoid peak weeks

Christmas, New Year and school holidays are usually busier. Compare nearby weeks if your dates are flexible.

  2. 02

    Check the lift pass

Local, linked-area and regional passes cover different terrain and can cost different amounts.

  3. 03

    Check the location

A cheaper hotel may cost more overall if you need taxis or long daily transfers to the lifts.

  4. 04

    Compare board basis

Self-catering, breakfast and half-board move costs between the booking price and your resort spending.

  5. 05

    Add travel costs

Include baggage, ski carriage, parking and the final resort transfer when comparing routes.

  6. 06

    Book key extras early

Ski school, childcare and popular equipment sizes can sell out in busy weeks.

Our methodology

How we check resorts and rank providers.

Resort facts and provider rankings are assessed separately.

01 · Research

We check the ski-area facts.

We use official resort and lift sources for piste size, lifts, altitude and connections, and label local, linked, cross-border and pass-network figures.

02 · Rank

We rank providers for Italy.

We include providers where they genuinely offer a useful Italy ski product or service. Within the list, we give the most weight to current Italy coverage, ski expertise, resort choice, package breadth, booking accessibility and usefulness when planning the trip. Commission does not set the order.

03 · Order

We order by booking stage.

Full Italy ski-holiday operators come first, followed by Italy and Alpine accommodation specialists, then luxury accommodation. Transfer companies, ski-hire providers and lesson marketplaces appear later because they support the trip rather than provide the main holiday package.

What the order means

Providers are ordered editorially for Italy, with complete holiday-booking options before accommodation and specialist services. Ski France, ALPS RESORTS, Mark Warner, SASS Global Travel and Whistler.com were excluded because their current focus is not a close fit for an Italy ski-holiday comparison. The order is not based on affiliate commission or live price.
