Trav's short answer

Kronplatz has the biggest confirmed on-mountain upgrade programme for 2026/27.

Three lift projects and new or extended pistes are due there. Livigno enters its first post-Olympic winter with major lift upgrades now in service, Vialattea and Bardonecchia are changing season-pass benefits, and Cervinia has a long maintenance closure scheduled for the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing.

Kronplatz is replacing three lifts and adding new piste mileage

Kronplatz has published the clearest package of genuinely new infrastructure for winter 2026/27. The main project is the rebuilt Kronplatz 1+2, a 10-person Leitner gondola with a relocated mid-station and capacity of up to 3,250 people an hour.

The red Lumen run is being extended to about 2.7 km, a new 650 m blue route called Weiden links into it, and the new blue Dolomiti piste adds roughly 1.5 km of easier skiing.

What changes for skiers

Faster movement around the mountain, plus more blue terrain for beginners and relaxed intermediates.

Livigno enters its first post-Olympic winter with upgraded lifts

Milano Cortina 2026 put Livigno at the centre of the snowboard and freestyle programme. For 2026/27, holiday skiers get the benefit of lift investment on both sides of the valley.

The result is quicker, more comfortable access around an already large ski area, especially at busy times when queue reduction has the biggest effect on a ski day.

03

Vialattea and Bardonecchia are tightening their partnership

The 2026/27 changes in Piedmont focus on passes and infrastructure investment as much as individual new lifts. Vialattea and Bardonecchia are pushing their joint Vialattea // Bardo offer while investment continues across the Olympic Mountains.
